Jessica (right) has always been pretty scared of heights, but somehow she fell in love with aerials, and from there, circus in general. She took her first mixed apparatus class two years ago (with Leah and her doubles partner, Molly!), and has been an avid aerialist since. While aerial silks remains her favorite circus art to practice, Jessica enjoys trying every aerial apparatus she can, as well as an increasing number of ground disciplines. She now circuses more days than not, training and performing primarily aerials with Commonwealth Circus Center and Boston University's Aerial Dance program. She loves circus for its community, physical and creative challenges, and fun, and especially likes sharing all this with circus beginners.
Jessica is a native of Boston's North Shore, and moved to the city after graduating from Smith College in 2017. She continued studying at Boston University, where she works in research exploring cool things about language and the brain, and is currently an Education Pioneers Fellow at Boston Public Schools, analyzing the school district's workforce data with a focus on equity in K-12 education. She is so happy to be a part of the Circus Up team and support social circus in Boston!
